What I Do¶
I help industrial investors and operators make better AI decisions — and when the decision is to build, I build.
Most AI advisors have never shipped a system. Most AI builders can't tell you whether the system is worth building in the first place. I do both. That means the advice you get is grounded in what actually works in production, and the systems I build have already survived an honest look at whether they're worth the investment.
Every engagement starts the same way: what's the decision you're facing, what's it worth to get it right, and how do we get you there.
Advisory¶
The question underneath most AI decisions isn't technical — it's "is this worth it, and how will I know?"
That's where I start. Before anyone spends money on a platform, a pilot, or a build, you need an independent read on what's real, what the value is, and what it would take to capture it.
For investors — I assess AI claims in deal flow and across portfolio companies. Before you write the check, you know what you're actually buying. After you've invested, I help your portfolio companies turn AI from a line in the pitch deck into measurable operating value.
For operators — I help you cut through vendor pitches, decide what's worth pursuing, and govern AI without slowing the business down. When your board asks about AI, you have a credible answer grounded in reality, not hype.
The deliverable is clarity: a decision you can defend, a priority you can act on, and a clear-eyed view of the value at stake.
AI-Native Build¶
When the decision is to build, the advantage of working with someone who can do both is that you skip the handoff.
The work I take on is AI-native — systems where AI isn't a feature bolted on, but the reason the thing works at all. A few examples of what that's looked like:
-
Knowledge that's walking out the door. Capturing decades of expertise from retiring experts before it's lost — and building the team's capability to use it.
-
Regulatory compliance that's too complex to do by hand. AI-driven platforms for tax credit compliance and attestation in environments where the rules change faster than people can track them.
-
Decisions buried in documents. Turning massive, slow, error-prone documentation workflows into something fast and reliable.
I don't take build work that hasn't earned its place. The strategy comes first, because getting that wrong is always more expensive than getting the code wrong.
Why Work With Me¶
I've been on your side of the table.
25 years across manufacturing, energy, and EPC — building and integrating the enterprise systems that AI now has to work alongside. I've seen where AI delivers real value and where it burns time and money.
Unlike vendors, I'm not selling you software. Unlike the big firms, I'm not staffing a team of juniors and learning on your dime. You get someone who understands how industrial organizations actually work, and who's invested in getting it right.
How We Start¶
A 30-minute conversation. No pitch, no pressure.
We'll talk through your situation — what you're trying to accomplish, what it's worth, and whether I'm the right person to help. If I'm not, I'll tell you. If I am, we'll figure out what getting there looks like.
